The artist’s village of Deia is perhaps
the most famous on the island, its idyllic setting; surrounded
by steep hillsides, orchards and vineyards has long made it
a draw for visitors. The centre of the village contains boutiques,
art galleries and some fine restaurants. A walking track from
the town leads down to Cala de Deia which has some fine swimming
spots and a few bars and restaurants. |

Soller is located beneath the soaring Serra
de Tramuntana mountains. A charming town with picturesque
old buildings and open plazas. Take one of the ex San Francisco
trams down to Port de Soller, relax in the open air bars in
the main square or visit the 16th century church with its
Gothic interior and modernists façade. Soller is also
the terminus for the Palma – Soller train line, one
of the most popular and spectacular excursions. |
